Famous Attorney Suing Arena After Slip and Fall

People slip and fall all of the time. In most instances these falls are not serious, but under the right circumstances people can actually suffer serious injuries when they fall unexpectedly. Broken bones, head trauma and back or neck damages are just a few of the common injuries people can suffer when they slip and fall. Slip and fall injuries are a serious matter just like any other kind of accident in which someone is hurt. People hurt in these accidents deserve to be treated like anyone else that has been injured. Likewise, someone who has been hurt in a slip and fall should also be compensated, just like someone hurt in any other kind accident involving negligence.

Alan Dershowitz, a Harvard Law School professor emeritus is reportedly suing TD Garden after he suffered a fall in the arena bathroom almost three years ago. Mr. Dershowitz was attending a Boston Celtics game at the time of the incident, when he reportedly slipped and fell on the wet bathroom floor. According to the lawsuit, Mr. Dershowitz claims that the floor became wet and dangerously slippery after the facility failed to provide enough paper towels for male patrons in the bathroom. Because there were no paper towels, water from those who washed their hands dripped onto the floor repeatedly, which created the dangerous conditions.

According to reports, Mr. Dershowitz said that he did not want to file a lawsuit, but because the three-year statute of limitations is getting closer and there was still no settlement in place, he felt he had no choice. In the lawsuit, Mr Dershowitz claims that he violently slipped on the wet floor, which in turn caused him to fall hard on his back on the tile floor. He claims he twisted both his knee and leg. He is seeking compensation for “economic and intangible damages.” While this case may not have the same magnitude of some of the other cases involving Mr. Dershowitz, he claims he is still feeling the effects of his fall nearly three years later.
