One Person Dies, Several Injured in Multiple-Truck Crash

Accidents involving large trucks or utility vehicles are often some of the worst types of accidents that happen. In most cases small personal vehicles don’t stand a chance when they collide with one of these over-sized trucks. That means that the people riding in a personal passenger car that collides with a truck often suffer serious and even fatal injuries. When a large semi-truck or utility truck causes an accident the victims and their families should speak with a truck accident lawyer who knows how to handle these cases and who can ensure that all the responsible parties are held accountable.

A crash involving four vehicles has left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital. The accident occurred when a landscaping truck pulling a trailer reportedly crossed over the center line and hit a Mack dump truck before slamming into a Honda Civic, which was being driven by a 43-year-old woman from Gurnee. According to authorities, the landscaping truck then crashed into a Chevy minivan. Besides the driver of the Honda, who was killed, the driver of the dump truck was also hurt and taken to the hospital, while the driver of the landscaping truck was injured and transported to the hospital.

The driver of the minivan and a passenger in that vehicle were treated and released at the scene, while a passenger inside the landscaping truck was also released at the scene. It is not yet known why the driver of landscaping truck crossed over the center line and why he kept going after striking the first or second vehicles. Authorities did not issue any citations at the scene but the investigation is still ongoing and charges could still be filed when the investigation is complete.
